Alternatives Analysis Completed and Public Meeting Scheduled

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, has completed an Alternatives Analysis for replacement of the Sierra Street Bridge over the Truckee River. The details of the analysis process, including bridge type selection, can be viewed on our project website: Final Alternatives Report.

Following the completion of the Alternatives Analysis, RTC is hosting its first Public Meeting for the project. Both a virtual meeting and an in-person meeting will be available for the community to learn and provide input on the Sierra Street Bridge Replacement project.

The virtual meeting will be held online Virtual Public Meeting  beginning March 7, 2024 through April 5, 2024. This is not a live event; however, the online presentation materials and survey offer you an option to learn about the project and provide feedback at your convenience.

The in-person meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at McKinley Arts Center in Reno from 4-7 p.m. with a presentation at 5:30 p.m. This event offers the opportunity to learn about the project and talk with project team staff.

Information about the proposed bridge replacement, why the project is needed, the study process and timeline, and how you can provide input will be available on the virtual public meeting website and at the in-person meeting. Comments will be accepted through April 5, 2024.

RTC will develop responses to frequently asked questions (FAQ) based on public questions and comments. The FAQ will be posted to website by May 17, 2024.

General information and project updates will be available throughout the study at SierraStreetBridge.com.
